This blog is dedicated to JennieV McLauchlin Wier, whose meticulous research, published in her book, The McLauchlins: Fortis et Fidus, prompted me to refocus my own efforts on my paternal line.  Thanks, JennieV, for all your hard work.  It has been a true labor of love to follow in your footsteps.

After over 40 years researching my family history, I've come to the point of wanting to do something with all this research I have.  I want to continue to share it with my relatives, but I want to do more. I want to share the continuing journey while I explore the times in which my ancestors lived. Beyond the pedgree charts and family group sheets, I want to give context to the lives I am documenting. That's where this blog comes in.  It will allow me to leave a record for those generations to come without worrying about losing scraps of paper or other ephemera.  So, to begin...
